The Silo at The Hayloft!
The Hayloft delivers a charming, peaceful lodging solution for smaller groups looking to escape the daily grind for our popular resort town. Located on the southern side of Geneva Lake, the historic building offers a quiet "away from it all' experience while being just 3.5 miles from all that downtown Lake Geneva has to offer. Short drive to downtown to enjoy the beach, shopping, or grab a bite to eat. Looking to trailer in a boat? The Hayloft offers plenty of parking and the public launch is just a hop, skip and a jump down South Lake Shore Drive. The appeal does not stop when the weather changes. Fall travelers get a chance to take in the stunning color changes via a hike on the shore path (22 miles all the way around!) or a guided boat tour. The area offers an array of other fun fall activities, including ziplining and visiting area pumpkin patches and corn mazes. The ice castles, Winterfest (National Snow Sculpting Competition) and multiple area ski-hills make for the perfect short getaway during the colder months- not to mention, plenty of unique local options to check out for food and drink!
This second-floor unit has been face lifted with today's traveler in mind. It features one bedroom (King), a bathroom (Shower only, no bathtub), an additional full-sized sleeper sofa- a perfect sleeping option for younger travelers, AND a twin bed in the silo (MUST CLIMB METAL LADDER TO ACCESS THE SILO BED). In total, the condo can comfortably accommodate Five vacationers. While there is not an oven or dishwasher, guests will find a kitchenette-type set-up including an electric stove top, mini-fridge, toaster, and coffee maker. Strong internet and a TV with streaming capability also make this cozy unit perfect for extended stays or remote workers! Don't miss your chance to see why the feedback on the Hayloft has been so strong and guests return year-after-year.
STAY IN A PIECE OF LAKE GENEVA HISTORY:
Dating back to the early 1900's, the historical significance of the Hayloft serves as a complement to Lake Geneva's already interesting past. Originally the Loramoor Estate, the once owner, James R. Moore used the main house as his personal getaway from Chicago. An avid horseman, he converted one of the outbuildings to stables with apartments on the upper level to house his horse caretakers and built other structures on the property including servants quarters, greenhouses, and an ice house. At one point, there were 140 men employed at the property! Sadly, the main house met its end in the 1980s, and many of the buildings have been converted to personal homes. The stables have since been restored to be the beautiful Hayloft Lodge we know today. Although some aspects have changed, much of the historical charm lives on!
Outdoor Pool-Open Memorial Day-Labor Day!
*Property has a Minut decibel sound and smoke detector.
*Please note this unit has well water. Reverse osmosis system next to kitchen tap for drinking and cooking
